Successful Finish on Key Manufacturing Production Line

Ogden, Utah, February 2009 – Setpoint Systems, a lean automation integration firm, successfully finished a buyoff that completes work on a key manufacturing production line for one of our customers.
Setpoint was hired to automate an assembly process using lean solutions from the Toyota Production System. After assessing the customers’ overall processes Setpoint was able to design and build automated machines for eight out of the twelve sequences in the manufacturing and assembly sequence.
Each of the twelve sequences was being performed manually, but with the automated machinery Setpoint was able to take out the variations found in the product associated with an intensely manual assembly process. Each machine was designed to perform work in a consistent, reliable manner and ensured that products were built to customers’ specifications. The automated equipment provided reduces repetitive processes, improved the ergonomics of each process, as well as checks for defects and faulty assemblies throughout the process.

As a result, the manufacturing production line was designed to meet or exceed the overall safety, quality, and production demands of the customer as well as built to meet robust production demands,” said Roger Thomas, VP of Operations.
